EA Sports has done quite well with their line of games. They have set up a platform that is used for pretty much every sport. They have done it again with NHL ‘08. The game menu is much like Madden ‘08 so it is easy to use since all true gamers are familiar with it already. The gameplay is as simple as any hockey video game I have played. New features such as skill stick and goalie mode are fun when you master them. The player can actually use the right joystick to control the movement of the players’ hockey stick. Shots are a flick of the right joystick and can be aimed precisely with the left joystick. Checking into the boards is as awesome as always and in-game fighting is always a must. The graphics are perfect as they should be on PS3 and the game is never slow. Of course, EA has included a franchise mode and makes it easy to have a grasp the sport more than ever. I play this game more than I actually watch hockey so it’s got to be a catalyst for the sport. Congratulations to EA Sports on another monster of a sports game.
